An update from our director about how we are supporting children through the Covid-19 pandemic and how this effects the demand in our services.

We are currently experiencing the greatest demand in our services due to the Covid-19 pandemic since we were founded in 2016. Children have been affected by COVID 19 in many ways, for example family breakdowns, bereavement, financial hardship. As a result many children are struggling more than ever with their mental wellbeing. Due to additional support received from the National Lottery we are able to increase our provision which is desperately needed.

Our staff team, therapists, directors, and trustees are working hard to make sure that we can identify and help those children most in need so that every child gets the support they need wherever possible. We are working with primary schools across the community and PaJeS to identify the most vulnerable children, whilst of course ensuring that all therapy sessions are conducted according to the latest covid-secure guidelines through using new equipment and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

We continue to operate our referrals via a school SENDCO only, so if you know of anyone who you think could benefit from our support at this most challenging time, please encourage them to ask their school SEN/inclusion unit to reach out to us.
